Balaguer i Cabré, Lluna Viella Priorat DOQ 2014
Bright, powerful red fruit alongside herbal notes, with floral and citric hints, and a subtle mineral character. Intense and concentrated, yet also fresh and juicy thanks to well-managed acidity and very fine tannins providing balance. An outstanding pure Garnacha from Priorat. 15%. Drink now to 2025.
Serving suggestions: Perfect with roasted meat – lamb with herbs, then also with vegetable couscous and hearty stews.
Celler Balaguer i Cabré
The Balaguer and Cabré families have been based in the southern Spanish region of Priorat for generations. They joined forces and their winery based in Gratallops produces wines all based on the Garnacha (Grenache) grape, sourced from small vineyard plots in the region, combining varietal expressiveness with the uniqueness of Priorat soils and climate.
The two wines in our assortment, the Lluna Viella 2014 and the Ruella 2015 (a small production of less than 2,000 bottles) are both made from Garnacha grapes grown at around 450m in the Gratallops area, the heart of Priorat, and represent very well the character of this appellation and the philosophy of the winemakers.
