Trevisiol, Rive di Collalto Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG 2016
This single-cru Prosecco of the 2016 vintage is made exclusively with grapes from 60 years old vines in the exceptional Rive di Collalto site, and expresses admirably the Valdobbiadene DOCG terroir. It displays characteristic green apple and peach aromas on the nose, as well as notes of candied lemon, with a minerally acidity, with a fine mousse, a rather full body and aromatic complexity. This is a serious sparkling wine! 11.5%. Drink now to 2019.
Serving suggestions: With its elegance, this is an excellent celebration drink, but it is also great for a simple aperitif, or with seafood, vegetable terrines, white meat dishes with a cream sauce.
The Trevisiol winery was established before World War I in Treviso near Venice and has participated over time in the emergence of Prosecco first as a purely Italian, then as a global sparkling wine phenomenon. Their vineyards in the Valdobbiadene DOCG and the cru Collalto DOCG ensure only first quality grapes cultivated within the classic production zone of Conegliano Valdobbiadene are used for the production of their outstanding Proseccos.
Glera, a grape variety indigenous to the region, is used for the making of Prosecco. The still white wine undergoes a second fermentation within a sealed steel tank (Charmat method), and the resulting fizzy wine is then bottled preserving its pearly effervescence. This method is ideal to preserve the freshness, brightness and fruity flavors we love in these adorable sparkling wines.
