André Roduit et Fils Combe d’Enfer Cornalin AOC Valais 2017

Rare and ancient Swiss grape variety, rich, complex, black cherries, violets and raspberries. Roasted quail, hard cheeses.

An ancient viticultural treasure found only in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland, the Cornalin grape variety, also known as Rouge du Pays, is difficult to grow and has become a rarity even in its homeland.

Hailing from one of the best terroirs in Valais, the Combe d’Enfer, this Cornalin from old vines displays a deep ruby colour with purple reflections and a rich, complex nose of black cherries, violets and raspberries. Silky tannins give it structure and aging potential.

Serving suggestions: Pair with roasted quail or guinea fowl, roast beef, porcini mushrooms as well as hard cheeses.
