From the northeast of Italy comes a very polished, contemporary ‘Bordeaux blend’ with expressive individuality (Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc). Dense and fleshy, the use of oak is confident and controlled, and melds seamlessly with the ripe blackberry fruit, the Cabernet Franc giving it a nice edge of freshness. Organic wine.
Marco Sambin, a university professor in psychology coming from a distinguished family of aristocrats and scholars, established Azienda Agricola Marco Sambin in 2002 on an abandoned farm site in the northern Italian Colli Euganei region, around 60km to the west of Venice. The vineyards are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, as well as some Syrah, and are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics. Despite the young age of this winery, their wines have already attracted the attention of the Italian and international wine world.
Service suggestions: A very versatile red, matching perfectly with roasted poultry, grilled vegetables, or even a hearty pasta.
