A quintessential Languedoc blend: Cinsault (40%), Syrah (30%), Grenache (20%), and Mourvèdre (10%). The wine has a beautiful dark ruby color, with some purple glints. It shows a generous fruity attack on the nose, very expressive of the varietal mix, followed by the emergence of subtle red berry, plum and spice notes. Balanced on the palate, with a nice interplay of ripe, juicy fruit and fine, evolved tannins. Organic wine.
The 22 hectares of organically farmed vines of the Mas de Figuier are located in the Pic Saint Loup appellation in the north east of the Languedoc. Here the weather is cooler and wetter, with large temperature variations from day to night, and the resulting wines combine ripe, sun-filled fruit with freshness and elegance.
Serving suggestions: As a very versatile everyday wine, you can sip this on its own (even slightly chilled for additional refreshment). I will equally go well with all Mediterranean-influenced or generously seasoned dishes, including grilled lamb chops, couscous, and cheeses. North Indian and northern Chinese cuisines also offer interesting pairing opportunities.
