Mas de Figuier ‘Seigneur de Leuze’ Languedoc AOP 2017

White flower and peach, citrus fruit – a lively wine balancing fruitiness and freshness. Aperitif wine, or Asian food.

This is a typical blend of the southern French varieties Roussanne (best known for its blends with Marsanne in the Rhône valley) and the white variant of Grenache. Luminous pale gold in colour, on the nose it displays white flower and white peach aromas with citrus fruit notes – a lively wine balancing very effectively fruitiness and freshness. Organic wine.

The 22 hectares of organically farmed vines of the Mas de Figuier are located in the Pic Saint Loup appellation in the north east of the Languedoc. Here the weather is cooler and wetter, with large temperature variations from day to night, and the resulting wines combine ripe, sun-filled fruit with freshness and elegance.

Serving suggestions: A great wine for aperitif, works well also with seafood, fish, white meats and cheesy vegetable soufflés. A savvy match with most Asian dishes, as it ticks both the boxes of sweet fruit aromatics and refreshing acidity.
